As an independent fee-only financial consultant, Edna brings to her clients 20 years of experience in the financial services industry. She offers objective financial advice and education, specializing in personal cash flow and retirement strategies, customized to individual needs.
Edna's mission is to empower individuals and to make a positive difference in their lives through objective financial advice and education. She believes that informed decision making at every stage of one's life is critical to a comfortable financial future.
She also assists businesses in carrying out their fiduciary responsibilities regarding 401k plans, including review of investments and fees, as well as educating employees.
Edna Thompsen earned the Certified Financial Planner(CFP®) designation in 1990. She is a member of the Financial Planning Association (FPA) and the Houston Estate and Financial Forum (HEFF),The Collaborative Law Institute of Texas and the Better Business Bureau (BBB). Edna has also earned the Certified Senior Advisor (CSA) designation and the Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF®) designation. In addition, she is registered as a Registered Investment Advisor (RIA).
Active in the community, she currently serves on the Board of Women, Inc. She has served as Chairman of the Education committee for the CyFair Chamber of Commerce working closely with CyFair ISD, and as a volunteer mediator for the Dispute Resolution Center in Montgomery County.
Edna has taught classes on various financial topics at local colleges and has been a featured speaker to organizations such as Rice University and JPMorgan Chase. She has also contributed various financial articles to local publications.
In addition to writing and publishing her own newsletter as a service to her clients, she is a co-author of The Unspoken Issues of Finance, a book focusing on the physical and emotional side of finances.
Edna charges an hourly fee for her services. There is no charge for the initial consultation and you are not obligated to use her services. She does not receive or pay referral fees or commissions.
